Our story
Fifty years of furniture.
10+ years of turnkey interiors — designed, built and handed over whole.
In 1974 the family started Mozammel Haque Timbers in Rajarhat, making furniture from seasoned wood — beds, almirahs, dining sets, and eventually fitted kitchens and wardrobes, all cut and assembled by our own carpenters.
In 2015 we took on the whole space rather than the furniture in it. Layout and 3D design, ceilings, electricals, plumbing, painting, flooring and stone now run alongside the joinery — one drawing set, one schedule, one contract, from empty flat to the day you move in.
Canvas & Brick is the name that work now carries. Canvas is the interior side. Brick is the construction business we are building next.
1974
Mozammel Haque Timbers starts up
The family begins manufacturing furniture in Rajarhat out of a rented shop — beds, almirahs and dining sets built to order from seasoned wood.
1983
The first premises of our own
A portion of the shop is bought outright, and the business expands on the back of it.
2005
The shop is expanded
More floor space and more capacity. Customers start asking for whole rooms rather than single pieces.
2015
Into turnkey interior design
The decisive step: the business expands from furniture into complete interior design — ceilings, electricals, painting, flooring and fitted joinery delivered as one turnkey contract.
2026
Canvas & Brick is launched
The interior work is brought under its own name — five decades of furniture making and a decade of turnkey interiors, pointed at complete homes.
